In order to borrow material from the Kalama Public Library,
you must obtain a library card.
Get a library card
In order to obtain a library card, you will be required to
comply with the library's public policy for Eligibility for
Library Services and Cards, and provide two (2) pieces of
current ID with current name and current address on them.
One of these must be a valid Washington State Driver's
License or Identification card. The second piece of ID may
be almost anything that also shows current name and current
address. Here are some examples:
* Voter Registration Card
* Forwarded Mail
* Telephone Book Listing
* Utility Bill
* Medical Coupons
* Printed Checks
* Auto Registration
* Washington Game License
* Charge Card Bill
* Bank Statement
Your library card is like a credit card. You are
responsible for any materials checked out on your card. If
your card is lost or stolen, please report it immediately.
There is a $1.00 charge to replace a lost or stolen card.
Borrowing Material
Books can be checked out for three (3) weeks and renewed
once or twice.
Renew a book
To renew a book you will need to contact the library,
either by phone or in person. Alternatively you may by
using an Internet connected computer, and signing in to
your library account, request a renewal online.
Reserve a book
To reserve a book you will need to contact the library,
either by phone or in person. Alternatively you may by
using an Internet connected computer, and signing in to
your library account, place a reserve request online.
Request a book from another library (ILL or
Inter-Library Loan)
You can request a book from another library by contacting
the library, who will check its availability with other
libraries, in this case using FirstSearch. If the book is
available, a request will be placed with the holding
library.
